Robert D. Clarke
Robert Clarke returns to the helm for his second full season as Head Coach of the Fighting Falcon’s Men’s Basketball program.
Last season was definitely a breakthrough season for Coach Clarke and CMU. The Falcons ended the season with 10 more wins than the previous season, four out of five starters being named all conference, and one being named co-conference player of the year.
Prior to being named Head Coach, Coach Clarke spent two seasons as lead assistant to our current Athletic Director Chris Shade before his retirement from coaching.
He brings a treasure trove of knowledge and experience, as this will be his 25th year of coaching.
Coach Clarke landed at CMU by way of Los Angeles Southwest College, where he spent six seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. In his first season at LASC the team ended the season with one lone win.
The following season saw dramatics increases in all statistical categories, and by the end of his stint at LASC, Coach Clarke and the Cougars had secured a conference championship, Coach of the year award, and multiple all-conference selections.

Jason Spann
Coach Jason Spann returns for his second season as lead assistant for our Fighting Falcon’s Men’s Basketball program. He brings a wealth of talent and knowledge, and was instrumental in last years breakthrough season.
Coach Spann attended Bethune Cookman University after graduating from Paul J. Hagerty High School in 2009. He was a part of the Men’s Basketball program for the 2009-2010 season.
After spending two years at BCU he received an offer to play for Bruce Victor at Pacifica University for the 2011-2012 season.
In 2013 Coach Spann joined Riverside City College’s men’s basketball program with the desire to start his coaching career under the tutelage of coach Phil Mathews. After five seasons at RCC Coach Spann received an offer to be an assistant coach at Bethesda University giving him an opportunity to coach at the university level. Coach Spann spent four seasons at Bethesda during that time BU won the 2020 PCAC regular season conference championship with an undefeated record and in 2021 upset NCAA Division 1 opponent Cal State Northridge.
Coach Spann was born in New York. Coach Spann completed his undergrad with a focus on Education at UCLA. In his spare time Coach Spann is a coach for AAU program BTI based in Pasadena, CA and coaches middle school kids for a program called Hoop Show located in Orange County, CA.

Christian Sellers
Coach Christian Sellers will be joining the CMU coaching staff as a first year assistant. Coach Sellers will be in charge of all player development this season.
Coach Sellers brings first hand experience to the table, being a CMU graduate and former standout player for the Falcons Men’s program.
Coach Sellers is devoted to making players better through skill development. As a player, Sellers always had a passion for helping his teammates develop their skills.
Coach Sellers attended Colony High School in Ontario, California, where in his junior season, he received 2nd team Mt. Baldy League honors, and in his senior season as senior captain, Sellers received 1st team Mt. Baldy League honors.
After high school Coach Sellers attended the University of Wisconsin Superior for one season before transferring to Cypress College (CA).
After Cypress College, Coach Sellers attended California Miramar University (CMU), where he was co-captain for 3 years. Sellers graduated from CMU with a bachelor’s degree in business- Sports Management in ’22.
Coach Sellers is excited to embark on this journey with Head Coach Robert Clarke, and Lead Assistant Coach Jason Spann.
