International Student Requirements

  • TOEFL, IELTS Score, Duolingo (Medium of Instruction letter is also accepted).
  • Passport copy
  • Bank Statements. Sponsor bank statement if applicable. 
  • Transcripts. If issued outside the United States an additional evaluation fee is required.

Admissions FAQ

What is the deadline to apply?

Deadline for submitting your application is determined by the start date. New classes start every 8 weeks. Check out the academic calendar or contact admissions for the next start date.

What about housing?

You are responsible for your own housing arrangements as CMU does not offer student housing. Some suggestions for student housing:

The cost varies for a single bedroom or shared bedroom. However, expect to pay a minimum of $600.00 per month. This may or may not include utilities electric, water, and Internet.

Do you offer any extracurricular programs?

What about International Students?

Applicants whose native language is not English and have earned a degree from an appropriately accredited institution where English is not the principal language of instruction are invited to apply as International Students.

What about Military?

What about transfer credit?

California Miramar University awards transfer credit for academic credit earned at previous accredited colleges and universities that align with the University’s curriculum. Applicants who wish to obtain transfer credit must provide transcripts to California Miramar University’s Registrar for evaluation as per our admissions process. For the purposes of admission, unofficial transcripts may be evaluated for transfer credits. However, official transcripts must be on file before an enrollment agreement can be issued. Failure to provide an official transcript will result in the removal of any accepted transfer credits from the student’s enrollment record and the student will be required to repeat those courses with CMU.

What about Americans with Disability Act (ADA) Accomodations?

California Miramar University offers accommodations to students who disclose themselves as meeting ADA requirements.  Please contact the University Registrar at registrar@calmu.edu or by calling 858-653-3000 ext 12.

What about official transcripts?

When applying for any degree program at CMU, all applicants are required to submit official transcripts from all schools previously attended for evaluation. Upon receipt, CMU will complete your degree audit detailing transfer credit and listing all courses required for degree completion.

What are the recommended technical requirements for the online Learning Management System?

  • Screen Resolution: A minimum resolution of 1024 x 768. (No lower than 800 x 600)
  • Audio: Sound card, speakers and microphone or headphones for listening and voice communication.
  • Web Camera: 640×480 resolution(Minimum) and 1280×720 resolution or higher(Recommended)
  • Internet Connection:
    • Broadband, Fiber Optic or high speed cellular internet connection recommended for courses with video
      • DSL
      • Cable

      • Fiber Optic
      • Cellular (4G LTE)
  • Operating System:
    • Windows 10, 8 or 7 are recommended.  Minimum: Windows-XP, Windows-Vista.
    • Mac OS X 10.7 Lion or better
    • Linux (Many options.  All are acceptable)
  • Desktop or Laptop Computers are recommended.
    • Minimum required is Pentium: 1Ghz or higher
  • Smartphones, Tablets and other Mobile Devices can be used for connection, however input for assignments is limited, and therefore is not recommended.
  • Recommended Browsers : Chrome 48.0 or higher, Firefox 44.0 or higher, Internet Explorer 9 or higher, Mozilla Google Microsoft Edge 38 or higher, Safari 9.0  or higher, Opera  35.0 or higher.
  • Browser Settings:
    • Pop-up blocker should be disabled.
    • Accept Cookies (enabled) to show the “newest version of the content”
