Cancellation and Refund Policy

New students have the right to cancel their program of instruction, without any penalty or obligations, through the attendance of their first class session or the 14th calendar day after enrollment, whichever is later. For withdrawal after the cancellation period, the University will calculate refunds as set forth in the table below. Cancellation/Withdrawal notification may be conveyed to the institution in any written manner, including email to registrar@calmu.edu, physical mail to CMU, 3550 Camino Del Rio, N. Suite 208, San Diego, CA 92108, or by submitting the Withdrawal Form available on the Moodle Platform. Refunds are provided within 30 days of cancellation or withdrawal.

For dismissals, the date of dismissal is used for refund calculations. Students who received Federal Student Aid and/or Veteran’s Assistance funding during the withdrawal term are subject to their respective refund policy requirements and are then entitled to a refund of money paid personally in accordance with the regular refund policy. If a Financial Aid student withdraws before completing 60% of a course, a prorated refund of the payment period will be due.  After the 60% point of the payment period, a student has earned 100% of FSA funds and the University has earned their entire tuition for the course. For calculating refunds, a “day” shall be defined as one of seven days contained in a calendar week.
