Accommodations for Students with Disabilities
It is the policy of California Miramar University to afford qualified students with disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, an equal opportunity to participate in, and thus benefit from, all programs, services, and activities of the University. Accommodations can only be ensured by the first day of classes if requested at least thirty (30) calendar days prior to the start of the quarter. However, the University will put interim accommodations in place to the extent possible for requests received less than thirty (30) calendar days in advance.

Grading
Grades and evaluations are based on the demonstrated performance and level of academic knowledge gained during a course. CMU Faculty are required to provide constructive feedback and grade all session assignments for each course and enter the grades into the Learning Management System in a timely manner. Timely means within five days (non-weekends) of the receipt of the lessons from the student. The grading will consist of letter grades of A through F with grade points as indicated below. Additional elements of essays, problems, projects and case studies will receive letter grades from the faculty based on the grading rubric established by the University.

The federal government passed a law named the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (20 U.S.C. §1092(f)). The federal law requires colleges and universities receiving federal student financial aid to disclose reported instances of criminal activity on or around their campuses. This act is enforced by the U. S. Department of Education.
In accordance with the Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990, and as amended, CMU collects crime statistics as the basis for this Annual Security Report (ASR), published by October 1. This is made available to students, employees, and applicants for enrollment or employment.
Crimes reported for the following location: 3550 Camino Del Rio N. Suite #208 San Diego, CA 92108 and our learning site: 420 Date Street, Montebello, CA 90640. The statistics show the total criminal offenses, hate crimes and arrests/referrals for campus disciplinary action that occurred at the main location. These statistics encompass the campus, buildings & property and public property surrounding the campus. Public property includes all thoroughfares, streets, sidewalks, and parking facilities that are within the campus, or adjacent to and accessible from the campus.

Title IX Coordinator
Pursuant to Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and the U.S. Department of Education’s implementing regulations at 34 C.F.R. Part 106, California Miramar University’s Title IX Coordinator has primary responsibility for coordinating California Miramar University’s efforts to comply with and carry out its responsibilities under Title IX, which prohibits sex discrimination in all the operations of this University, as well as retaliation for the purpose of interfering with any right or privilege secured by Title IX.
Sexual misconduct against students, including sexual harassment, sexual assault, rape, and sexual exploitation, can be a form of sex discrimination under Title IX. The Title IX coordinator oversees California Miramar University’s response to reports and complaints that involve possible sex discrimination to monitor outcomes, identify and address any patterns, and assess effects on the campus climate, so the University can address issues that affect the wider school community.

Office Keys to Campus Facilities
Keys are provided to employees on a need-to enter basis as determined by the appropriate departmental manager. Lost or stolen keys must be reported immediately to Jean Foster. Keys may not be loaned to other staff members, family, and friends or to students.
Public Safety officers will confiscate any keys, which have not been specifically issued to a particular individual. Unauthorized duplication and illegal possession of keys is a misdemeanor crime punishable by law. Refer to California Penal code section 469.
Weapon Possession Policy
It is a serious violation of the law to possess a firearm or certain knives on campus on grounds or within buildings of the College (Section 626.9 of the California penal code)
Substance Abuse Policy
CMU will not tolerate substance abuse and committed to a policy prohibiting the use of illegal drugs or the abuse of legal drugs or alcohol, illegal drugs or the misuse or abuse of legal drugs controlled by law.

Safety Procedures
Any emergency or criminal action must be immediately reported to the Chief Operations Officer or Dean/CAO. You must contact local authorities through 9-11. To ensure prompt and accurate record keeping, criminal activity must be documented as quickly as possible on the campus Incident log maintained by the School Director. In the event of campus disciplinary action in cases of alleged sex offenses, perpetrator will be information of the outcome of any institutional disciplinary proceeding brought alleging a sex offense. Any perpetrator who is found guilty will be dismissed from CMU.
Constitution Day
On September 17, 1787, the delegates to the Constitutional Convention met to sign the United States Constitution and presented it to the American public.
In 2006, President Bush signed Public Law 108-447 designating September 17th as Constitution Day.
Constitution Day became the goal of Louise Leigh (former Outreach Director for the California Bicentennial Commission) after she “realized how little most Americans knew about the Constitution.” In 1997, she founded an organization and movement to organize Constitution Day celebrations throughout the country.

Voter Registration
In compliance with the requirements of the U.S. Department of Education California Miramar University provides the following information on registering to vote. This information applies only to California Miramar University students who are citizens of the United States. Voter registration forms are located on the United States Election Assistance Commission (EAC) website.
The National Voter Registration Form can be used to register U.S. citizens to vote, to update registration information due to a change of name, make a change of address, or to register with a political party. The form contains voter registration rules and regulations for each state and territory. You must follow the state specific instructions listed for your state which begins on page three of the form. After completing the form, you must sign your name as indicated and mail the form to your state or local office. North Dakota, Wyoming and U.S. territories (Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa and Guam) do not accept the National Voter Registration Form. New Hampshire accepts the form only as a request for an absentee ballot.

Acceptance of the degree, diploma, or certificate the student earns in all of our degree, diploma and certificate programs are also at the complete discretion of the institution to which you may seek to transfer. If the credits or degree, diploma, or certificate that the student earns at this institution are not accepted at the institution to which the student seeks to transfer, the student may be required to repeat some or all of the coursework at that institution. For this reason, the student should make certain that your attendance at this institution will meet your educational goals. This may include contacting an institution to which the student may seek to transfer after attending California Miramar University to determine if the credits or degree, diploma or certificate will transfer.
