Dr. Chitpasong Vazquez is a senior executive with more than a decade of experience in education and academic leadership. Dr. Vazquez has held leadership positions at vocational, technical and career-based institutions.

Dr. Vazquez has served as the Associate Dean for the School of Business and Computer Science. In addition, she has served as the Dean of Education to oversee various Business, Medical, and Computer Science programs. Dr. Vazquez has experience in education advancements, student relations, education management, compliance, and curriculum development.

CMU’s Chief Operating Officer, Ms. Jean Foster has dedicated her whole career to the effective education of the adult population. She began working for the San Diego Department of Education when she was a senior in high school. After relocating to Los Angeles, Jean began working at a private California Law School where she was instrumental in creating the required educational infrastructure. She then went on to become the Chief Operating Officer(COO) and a major stockholder of another California State Bar-approved private Law School and held that position for over five years. Jean joined the Parent Research Institute for Drug Education (PRIDE) of Saint Tammany Parish, Louisiana, as their operations manager. Dr. Maryam Hassanlou is the Chair, Master of Science in Computer Information Systems. She earned her Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering with a concentration in Finance in 2012. She has published more than 30 papers in the fields of finance, business, and engineering. Her first book in “Stochastic Process in Finance” has published in July 2017.

Dr. Hassanlou has over 10 years of experience in teaching in the departments of Engineering, Business, and Management in the US and Iran. Dr. Stan Foster has been destined to become a visionary strategic leader and entrepreneur ever since he was a teenager. He formed his first business when he was only 14 years old, his first corporation at 20, became a member of Vienna’s International Theatre at 21 and co-wrote and produced his first full length feature film which was directed by folk singer Pete Seeger’s son Dan, at the age of 24. Two years later he became a member of the prestigious Directors Guild of America (DGA). Dr. Foster had been fortunate to work on major Hollywood feature films and major television series. His film credits include pictures directed by Steven Spielberg and Danny DeVito to name a few. Guided by the California Miramar University premise that ‘Knowledge is Power’, Rupali Vora strives to support students, faculty and staff at CMU in all their academic endeavors as CMU’s Associate Dean of Academics. She has been with CMU since 2017, serving as a solo librarian in which she focuses on reference, Moodle course rooms, cataloging, circulation and resources. Rupali designs information literacy content and delivers it in classroom and online courses.

Her journey as a librarian started a decade back and she went through the experiences of being a cataloger, in reference, providing faculty support in course creation and as a solo librarian. Born and brought up in India, with her undergrad in India and Masters in the U.S., she brings a unique perspective to CMU in working with Domestic and International students. She has traveled extensively around the U.S. and has now called San Diego home. Rupali has earned an undergrad degree in Pharmacy from LMCP, India, a certificate course in Integrated Marketing Communications from UC Berkeley and a Masters in Library and Information Science from SJSU. She is a member of Special Library Association and loves to volunteer.

Myra Smith, MBA, With 20 years in education and positive student-centric education and corporate experience, Mrs. Smith brings an impressive record of accomplishments in higher education. Her expertise includes leading multi-state admissions strategies, specializing in student recruitment initiatives, being dedicated to mission-driven institutions in particular, and supporting organizations committed to student advancement.

As a Regional Director of Admissions and Associate Campus Director, she successfully managed initial accreditation grants, DOE compliance, fiscal management, and curriculum development, Veterans Affairs, and Admission services.

Mrs. Smith has led initiatives designed to streamline business processes and enhance collaborative policy development and campus growth. Mrs. Smith is particularly dedicated to helping students achieve their academic goals and thrive.

CMU’s Chief Information Officer, Ms. Farnaz Gorjian, MBA in Information Technology, currently pursuing her DBA in strategic management, has more than 14 years of experience in different positions ranging from system/business analyst to project manager in National as well as international projects. She has held managerial positions in high-tech companies where she has acquired the required critical-thinking skills of making quick decisions in difficult situations. She is a qualified expert in Business Process Modeling as well as in Mega Project Management. Her research interests revolve around the role of service-oriented architecture human interaction in the management of large organizations. She also is a Certified Advanced Pranic Energy Healer which enables her to leverage this knowledge of wellness and energy to create balance in any work environment. She is inherently endowed with a strong interpersonal skill that has been amplified further through her Spiritual Healing Training. She is keen on furthering these capabilities in applied corporate culture research within the larger context of Human Sciences in both physical as well as mental health.
