Fighting Falcons Head to Utah for Griffin Tournament

Montebello, California. November 14 – California Miramar University basketball team will be headed to Salt Lake City, Utah this week to compete in the Griffin Classic Tournament, hosted by Westminster University. The tournament will run from November 17-20.

The Fighting Falcons under the leadership of Coach Chris Shade are currently (0-3). Coach Shade says, “We are a new team with a lot of developing talent. Once we get our rhythm we are going to be unstoppable.” The Fighting Falcons are currently in their first season with hopes of building a program with local and international talent once their NAIA membership is implemented.

Coming off a loss to the Argonauts of Belmont last week, the team is looking forward to redemption this weekend. Coach Shade has made some changes. He will go with a bigger line-up and run a zone defense against Westminster a team with solid 3 point shooters. The falcons will also play Bristol University and Eastern Oregon in the tournament.
